“We just needed to move into a more family-friendly area with a better parking situation,” Mandy said. The bakery has been serving customers since 2008. Mandy and her husband, Chris Hamilton, purchased the bakery previously known as J. Rae’s in 2013. After owning and operating the bakery for seven years, the Hamiltons decided to modify the recipes to make them their own and rebranded as Glitz Bakery, according to the website. Now, they’re planning a move.

“We’re really excited about the move. We think it’s just going to be so much better for our customers. It will be easier to access us,” Mandy explained. They will move everything from the bakery in Fort Worth to the new location at 6104 Southwest Blvd. Mandy doesn’t plan on disrupting operations during the move.

Glitz Bakery offers specialty, custom-decorated, brightly-colored sugar cookies. The menu also includes cupcakes, cheesecakes, cake balls, and a variety of Comfort Cookies. “That would be your traditional cookies like chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, M&M, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin,” she explained. The new location will initially be to-go only like it is at the current Fort Worth location.
