Plano is getting ready to welcome Fizz, a new all-day bar and restaurant concept that begins with coffee service in the morning and transitions into a lounge with drinks and music. Slated to open this month, Fizz comes from Jeff Murtha, who’s behind Studio 80, the popular ‘80s club in Fort Worth. It features two full-service bars, one wrapping around the 3,500 square-foot interior and another located on the 1,200 square-foot patio. The patio has a retractable roof to take advantage of sunny days and protect guests from the rain, and during cooler months, fire pits provide cozy gathering spots.

Fizz will have the most extensive Champagne list in DFW, with more than 50 sparkling wines, including 20 Champagnes from France. The wine list tops 100 bottles and was curated by GM and sommelier Anthony Martinez, who will be on hand to help with selections.

The bar will also serve craft cocktails under the direction of mixologist Ruben Michael, who’s dedicated to creating an elevated bar program paired with an elegant experience. His ever-changing menu will feature classic cocktails, original drinks and twists on existing favorites, all meticulously hand-crafted and made with high-quality spirits, fresh juices and herbs, and house-made tinctures and syrups. Highlights include a Gin Fizz, the Naked and Famous (mezcal, yellow chartreuse, Aperol and lime juice), and Moth 2 a Flame, an Old-Fashioned riff that’s infused with cold smoke.

Complementing all those drinks is a shareable food menu anchored by build-your-own boards. Patrons can purchase meats and cheeses imported from all over the world, and then fill the board with complimentary accoutrements, including house-made dressings, spreads, imported jams, crackers, breads and olives. Fruit and vegetable boards are also available.

The menu features three salads that can be topped with delicious proteins: prime filet, salmon, chicken or blackened shrimp. Diners can also enjoy four different fondues. Two cheese options—one spicy and one not—are served with bread, and two dessert fondues—milk chocolate and caramel—come with a variety of fruits. Continuing the build-your-own theme are DIY S’mores. Orders include a basket of graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows and personal burners.

The coffee bar will be open daily at 7 a.m. and will feature beans sourced from around the world. Fizz also has a dedicated golf cart that will make coffee deliveries throughout the neighborhood, so if you can’t go to Fizz, it will come to you.

The lounge serves food Sunday through Thursday from 4 – 10 p.m. with select menu items available until midnight and on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 – 11 p.m. Weekends bring party brunches with live entertainment on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., and there is also live entertainment each night from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. that may include saxophones, violins and harpists.

“We’ve been working hard to make Fizz the most fun new lounge Plano has to offer,” said the venue’s owner, Jeff Murtha in a statement. “It’s the perfect mix of great food and drinks, exceptional service and lively atmosphere, and there will always be something new to experience, whether it’s a rare bottle of bubbly or a captivating performer.”

Fizz is located at 3310 Dallas Parkway, Suite 115 in Plano.

This place just opened and has already lowered the property value and quality of life for its residential neighbors. Why they are allowed to blast the community with pounding dance music from their outdoor patio past midnight is a mystery. Might be why we’ve seen the cops and even an ambulance here multiple times this week. We visited a couple different times and found a crowd from 25 to 55 of trashy hookers and trashier pimps, the mandatory Plano vape pen d-bags and cosmetically altered d-baguettes, a friendly but overextended staff, good cocktails and great snacks that are both overpriced,… Read more »
