On a mission to change the way people eat through access to fresh, healthy food, Farmer’s Fridge expanded to Texas with 18 initial locations. The first wave of Fridges include 11 hospital locations and seven airport sites that opened last week. Residents can also order home delivery from a rotating, seasonal menu of 25 chef-created salads, grain bowls, breakfast bowls and snacks, all $10 or less.
Launched in 2013 with a single Fridge, the company has grown to a network of 400 automated smart Fridges across the country and offers delivery in 42 states, serving thousands of customers daily. The smart Fridges vend meals in seconds and the company’s proprietary technology continually tracks inventory for freshness, while stocking products customized to customer preference trends at each location.

The chef and culinary team at Farmer’s Fridge take a progressive approach to the menu, using local ingredients whenever possible. Meals are packaged in recyclable, portable jars and delivered fresh throughout the week. The company monitors the cold chain from end-to-end to ensure peak freshness and includes an “Enjoy By” date on every item. Surplus meals are regularly donated to local food depositories, helping community members in need.
