Zalat Pizza, a born and bred brand of Dallas, is planning to open three new locations in the DFW area.
The Dallas Morning News reports the new restaurants will be coming to 1160 Peavy Rd in Dallas, 6935 Hillcrest Rd in Dallas, and 950 W. Stacy Rd in Allen. The Peavy Rd location was previously home to 20 Feet, a seafood joint that closed its doors in March 2020.
Exact opening dates for the locations have not been announced.
Even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Zalat has thrived – thanks, in part, to its creatively topped handmade pizzas and third-party delivery service. The brand currently has 16 locations across North Texas including in Addison, Denton, Frisco, and Plano. Its first location outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is opening in Houston’s Midtown at 510 Gray St on December 6.
“I know from growing up in Houston that Houstonians appreciate great food and that’s exactly what we’re bringing to the city,” Zalat founder and CEO, Khanh Nguyen, said. “We are a no-frills brand that focuses on creating delicious, unique, high-quality pizzas for our customers.”
The Midtown location is the first of many Zalats that will be coming to Houston. The brand is also planning to expand nationally starting in 2024.
Some of Zalat’s top made from scratch pizzas include “The Reuben” which comes topped with shaved corned beef, Swiss cheese, and housemade 1000 Island sauce; “Pho Shizzle” which includes chicken, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, and swirls of hoisin and sriracha; and “Pepperoni Masterclass” – a New York pizza perfection that features 100% all-beef pepperoni, oregano, black pepper, and crushed garlic.
Before any pizza goes out the door, it is inspected and signed by a “Pizza Zealot” – what Nguyen dubbed the brand’s team members since they’re “fanatical about what they do.”
