The hot pot and barbecue fusion restaurant in Plano will be the first for Seapot in Texas. Seapot General Manager Zhen Hou told What Now Dallas they plan to make their new space more modern and contemporary with industrial décor.

The restaurant will feature a conveyer belt for diners to choose ingredients for their hot pot meals. “Hot pot is a traditional Chinese cuisine that we use different kinds of soup base to cook the ingredients. It’s either meat or vegetables,” Hou explained. “The customer can just pick whatever ingredient they like. They can also order with our staff any specific item that they want.”

Diners can choose from a variety of soups and then cook the ingredients in the soup at their tables. Protein ingredients include chicken, pork, lamb, and ribeye, with add-ons such as lobster and crab available. They can also choose to order barbecue options from the grill.

Seapot currently has two locations in California with a third coming soon to Daly City. Hou also operates a Seapot location in California. “We’re going to bring something new, and hopefully, it will surprise the people in Dallas,” Hou said.

“We will provide really good quality food and very cultured food to Dallas. People can experience a little bit more of a high-end restaurant dining experience with a lower budget.” Hou said the Plano location could open in September or October of 2022.
