Jeremiah’s Italian Ice will open in Lucas later this year. The new Collin County spot on an endcap at 2695 McGarity Ln. in Lucas will be the first Jeremiah’s for husband-and-wife team Derrick and Chevonne Madison.
Chevonne told What Now Dallas that her first experience with Jeremiah’s was on her first date with Derrick. The two visited Jeremiah’s in Winter Park, Florida. Derrick was initially introduced to Jeremiah’s by his sister when he returned to Florida from college. He said he had to introduce Chevonne to Jeremiah’s because of the menu and the ambiance. “Colors, every mural is different,” Derrick said. “You’ve got music playing, and it’s just a relaxing and cool vibe. It just makes you want to hang out for a little bit.”
The Madisons are opening the franchise location to create a family legacy for their three sons, Derrick, Jr., Dalton, and Devon. Their middle son, Dalton, is thrilled each time they go. “If you take him to the frog, he just gets so excited,” Chevonne said. The frog refers to the Jeremiah’s logo.
Jeremiah’s menu includes more than 40 flavors of Italian Ice; vanilla, chocolate, or swirl soft-serve ice cream; and a mixture of the two—Gelati. “Jeremiah’s makes you feel welcome,” Chevonne said. “You can go in there and taste any flavor.” Guests can customize their sweet treats. One of Chevonne’s favorites is Strawberry Shortcake. Derrick’s is banana, vanilla, and a little coconut.
“We’re excited to be in Lucas, Texas and already looking forward to the next location. We’re just excited to be able to share the same experience with the families of Texas. It is definitely a spot that you will never forget,” Derrick said.
“Jeremiah’s is a place where anyone from all ages of the family can come and just have a good time and enjoy each other while having a sweet treat. It provides a flavorful experience,” Chevonne said. “It brightens my day just going in. So, if anyone is ever looking to bring their family by a location that is going to be family-oriented and leave you smiling inside and out, Jeremiah’s will definitely be a place to go.”
The Madisons hope to open Jeremiah’s in Lucas in November of 2023.
