Shakertins, a North Texas mini-chain popular for its elevated bar fare, craft cocktails and good vibes, is coming to Prosper.
It will open at 1140 S Preston Rd, suite 30. Featuring a 1,500 year-round square foot patio, Shakertins in Prosper will have sectional couches and a lounge area for guests to enjoy food and drinks outdoors. A community table that seats 18 will be permanently installed on the patio and designed to match the indoor bar. There will also be an 85-inch TV mounted on the wall where guests can enjoy the Dallas Cowboys and other games.
Owner Brad Hawkins is eyeing a grand opening date of Friday, July 1. Helping to kick off the celebration will be Dallas party band Vegas Stars from 7 PM until 9 PM. After that, a DJ will keep the party going until midnight. But before then, Shakertins will hold a service industry sneak peek party on Wednesday, June 29. Anyone who is in the service industry is invited to come out and join.
The forthcoming bar in Prosper will be the fourth North Texas opening for the brand. Shakertins’s flagship location opened six years ago in The Colony at 6910 Windhaven Pkwy, suite 101, serving the Austin Ranch community. The second and third locations are in The Village at Allen and The Shops at Legacy North, Plano (the latter of which just celebrated its first year!).
Hawkins says Shakertins has been fortunate to do so well even through the pandemic. “A lot of big names closed down, but we were able to stay open and benefit from the lack of competition,” he shared with What Now Dallas. “We complied with everything, but kept a full kitchen. Now, we’re back to business as usual.”
And after the opening of the Prosper location, Hawkins and his team is not stopping there. “Shakertins is the priority,” he said. There is “positive response and the growth is there. Our menu is consistent. We’re looking to open one to two per year moving forward.”
With an extensive selection of spirits, beer, and wine, craft cocktails at Shakertins include its signature Shakertini made with Deep Eddy’s Peach Vodka, strawberry syrup, lemon juice and agave. There’s also “I Can Only Manhattan” – a mix of Maker’s Mark whisky, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters and Grand Marnier, and “Jalapeño Business” – a slightly spicy drink made with Don Julio Silver tequila, peach syrup, lime juice, sweet and sour mix and fresh jalapeño.
Bar bites include hummus with basil pesto, grilled pita, and veggies; nachos that can be loaded with BBQ pulled pork, chicken, or beef and other toppings; “bomb” mac and cheese; blackened chicken quesadillas; and wings. If you’re looking for something a little more filling, there’s burgers, hand rolled pizzas, chicken sandwiches and wraps, tacos and sliders.
Brunch is served on Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM and features such dishes as chicken and waffles, chicken biscuits, coffee cake French toast, hangover burgers and $25 mimosa towers.
