He is bringing a new live music venue, restaurant, and private event space to the Fort Worth Stockyards. Named for Love’s son, Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall will be located in the historic Horse and Mule Barns of the Mule Alley redevelopment.
The music hall is being developed in partnership with Live Nation and will feature state-of-the-art audio and lighting capabilities. The main stage will be on the ground floor and have a general assembly capacity of 1,000. Upstairs, a mezzanine will include three 20-person VIP suites, a separate lounge area, and a private bar – all with views to the main stage.
Live Nation and Love are planning to host a variety of well-known and aspiring performing artists from across multiple musical genres. The initial lineup of shows and events planned for Fall 2022 is expected to be announced in May.
Restaurant-wise, complete renovations to the nearly 26,000 square foot space have been made to equip it with extensive kitchen facilities to accommodate pre-event dining, full concert concessions, and multiple course meals to accommodate up to 500 guests for such events as weddings, family reunions, and other social and corporate gatherings.
Designed by Studio 11 Design, the venue’s ground floor will also include a branded merchandise retail shop and an extensive double-sided bar to serve guests from the restaurant, as well as those just coming for a concert.
“We are honored to continue to be a part of the amazing rise of Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards,” Love said in a release. “Our team is thrilled to bring our 20-year knowledge of the Stockyards and our extensive hospitality and live music experience to add another layer of richness to Fort Worth’s legendary, robust live music scene. We are very grateful to have Live Nation as our booking partner — we plan to bring some incredible acts to Fort Worth.”
Love, widely known for his signature urban western cuisine, has restaurants spanning the nation from Seattle to Knoxville. But his roots run deep in Texas where he holds the title of official chef for Austin City Limits and is the co-founder of Austin Food & Wine.
His restaurants in Fort Worth and beyond include:
- Lonesome Dove Western Bistro (Fort Worth, Austin, Knoxville)
- Woodshed Smokehouse (Fort Worth, Houston)
- Love Shack (Fort Worth, DFW Airport, Knoxville, Houston)
- Queenie’s Steakhouse (Denton)
- White Elephant Saloon (Fort Worth)
- Gemelle, named after his twin daughters Ella and Anna (Fort Worth)
- Atico (Fort Worth)

Anthony Nicolaidis, president of Live Nation Dallas, echoed Love’s excitement, saying, “We believe this partnership with Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall will only bring more new and exciting opportunities to the market and will complement the historically vibrant music scene in Fort Worth.”
