The Illinois-based Bulldog Ale House is opening its first location in Texas in Dallas.

The restaurant will be located at 4520 Frankford Rd. According to lease intel, it will occupy suite 1200, a former Fuddruckers. The 6,125-square-foot space is a part of Frankford Pavilion, a high profile shopping center on the southwest corner of Dallas North Tollway and Frankford Road. Bulldog Ale House is joining the neighborhood with such eateries as Honey Berry Café and Yogurtti.

An exact opening date has not yet been announced. The location is listed as “coming soon” on the brand’s website.

Founded in 2010 by Matt Ahmeti, Bulldog Ale House is one of three concepts from WeEat Hospitality Group which is also behind the aforementioned Honey Berry, as well as Goat & Vine. Honey Berry opened in Dallas in summer 2021. Goat & Vine was originally planned to open in Plano in fall 2021, but the launch date was pushed back and it is expected to open sometime this year instead. The arrival of Bulldog Ale House in Dallas brings all three of the group’s concepts from Illinois to the DFW area.

Ahmeti opened the first Bulldog Ale House in Carol Stream, Illinois. Today, the brand has 10 locations in the state. Last year, it announced its first out-of-state location in West Allis, Wisconsin. The forthcoming Dallas location is its second out-of-state venture.

“I came up with the concept because I love beer and I love pizza and I love great food,” Ahmeti told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 2021.

Indeed, pizza, burger and beer are the main items on a menu that is 95% made from scratch. Its signature burger is the Bulldog Burger that comes with crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, hot sauce, American cheese and bleu cheese dressing. There’s also the Loaded “Magna Fry” Burger, the Memphis Burger, the Mac & Cheese Burger, the Ale House Burger and the Country Fried Burger.

Pizza options include classic Margherita, Spicy Pepperoni, Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken and White Truffle. The latter, a favorite of Ahmeti’s, includes white truffle fondue, fresh mozzarella, caramelized brussels sprouts roasted garlic, charred corn and fingerling potatoes.

Signatures of the restaurant include chicken and waffles, homemade pot pies, fish ‘n’ chips and chicken parmesan.

There’s also sliders, tacos, wings and tenders, soups and sandwiches, and salads and wraps.

Freshly made desserts include chocolate brioche French toast, cheesecake, beignets, rumchata bread pudding and vanilla ice cream.

As far as the beer, Bulldog Ale House carries 40 to 72 beers on draft depending on the location.

Open for lunch and dinner, the rapidly growing concept offers an upscale atmosphere with very moderate menu prices. Restaurants have an ale house feel, featuring modern décor such as reclaimed wood and stainless steel bar tops. Most locations have dog friendly patios, but the Dallas location will not.

“Our goal is to create an environment that is comfortable for families, couples, first dates, senior citizens, teenagers, whatever,” Randy Schobert, Director of Operations for Bulldog Ale House, told The Chicago Tribune. “We want to appeal to the masses and give them great food and great service at a cost they can afford. We want people to come once or twice a week to enjoy our great specials.”
