It will open at 9652 Ten Gallon Dr and occupy suite 200, a 2,300-square-foot space. Franchisees Ryan Pham, Elson Douangdara and Duc Nyugen are bringing the location to the area. A spokesperson for the brand said the tentative opening date is late summer.
The forthcoming location is a part of the brand’s recent efforts to expand its footprint in Texas. At the beginning of 2021, Bonchon relocated its global headquarters from New York City to Dallas. It opened its first company operated fast-casual Dallas restaurant at 4980 Belt Line Rd in Addison in February 2021.
Locations have also been opened in Round Rock, The Colony, Katy, Houston, and Pearland. A Frisco location is currently in the works, as well, and is expected to open in spring 2022.
Bonchon originally made its Dallas debut at 5500 Greenville Ave in December 2013, but that location closed in less than a year.
Born in 2002 in Busan, South Korea, Bonchon currently has over 110 locations across the United States and 370 locations worldwide including Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
Korean for ‘my hometown,’ Bonchon was recognized by Business Insider in 2019 as “the gold standard for fried chicken.” Its menu includes crunchy, double-fried chicken smothered in soy garlic and spicy sauces, as well as starters like pork and veggie potstickers, pork buns, and Korean tacos. Main dishes include bulgogi, chicken katsu, house friend rice, and udon noodle soup.
